Sexy & 'Savvyy' for Thanksgiving 2010

I found so many great finds @ DSW. Like this killer, cute platform heel by Steve Madden. It's appropriately titled 'Savvyy'...

And this is Savvyy on my foot (hosiery not included):

Star light...star bright.

I absolutely LOVE the Stardust Eyeshadow line by Urban Decay. I wear Space Cowboy (golden/beige with iridescent sparkle on MY COMPLEXION) & Diamond Dog (silvery light brown with iridescent sparkle on MY COMPLEXION). I wear both for day & night. They are versatile. I wear alone for day...& layer over other colors for night. Even if I worked that routine BACKWARDS it'd be fab.

I snapped this pic in Ulta's:

This is Diamond Dog a little closer (pic taken from Ulta's website):

ULTA is Ultra

The thing I love about Ulta is that it has drugstore brands like Maybelline, Revlon, etc. & higher end brands like Urban Decay. I also love their own self-titled brand-named products which they forever have on sale for 'Buy 2, get 2 free'. That's my language & I converse with them well! Here's a peek at Ulta's self-entitled line. I took these pics myself on my weekly 'browsing' trip.

Nikki Minaj & MAC Collaboration

Read the story of: 'Pink Friday' lipstick by MAC
Is this a hit or miss color? I am the same complexion as the fiery rap star & I just don't see this making it to my lips. BUT...I like her angle on the product. Her album of the same title drops...or releases on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving)...& her 'signature' color is a bubblegum pink found in Barbie's world. A collaboration of the those aspects is genius if you ask me. But the color? I'll let you decide.

Yes or No?

So I'm @  Famous Footwear & I am definitely into these 'SingSing' boots by Steve Madden's Madden Girl line. Funny how they are called 'SingSing' because they were SINGING to me in that store. Famous FootwearI want them so bad but I can't justify the SPACE or reason for getting them. *sigh* I need to think on it a bit more. But see how stylishly funky & practical they are? They make for the perfect work boot for when I want to add edge to my casual pants suits (casual as in I pair a funky/edgy jacket with a regular pair of slacks...no double-breasted, matchy matchy power suits every day thank you).

Lift those Babies UP!

Per a few surveys that I've seen on the web including the one I got this cartoon caption from, I learned that about 70% of women don't wear the right sized bra. That's a LOT of flesh hanging all willy-nilly!

Ladies, if there is any boob overfloweth then chances are...you're not wearing the correct bra size. A good fitting bra can transform your figure so much so that others may believe you lost weight.  I know this as fact. I couldn't part with all of my lacy, sexy bras from Victoria's Secret that looked good on until my clothes covered them. For one...they were costly. I thought paying more meant 'better'. This can be true only if you really know your size. If you're like me & buy what only SEEMS to fit...then this glimpse of hope will be shattered. Also, I hated the fact that anything I owned from Victoria's Secret had 'issues'. Couldn't be so. But it was. And it wasn't the bras that had issues...it was my lack of bra-fitting knowledge that seemed a bit ADD.  Seriously...I owned 34C's & 36D's that fit the same & never thought twice about why. It was because I FORCED it. While I won't share my true size I will say that I now go into Victoria's Secret & will not get bamboozled by the styles that only seem to come in smaller cups. And I don't need any miracles in this area...I've been Blessed (thank you God). Vicky's has a plethora of options for me...I just make sure I march to my section.

Do your girls some justice ladies...get measured & wear good fitting bras! And learn how to control for all the varying styles (demi, push-up, etc.).

The Booby Prize...

I love when I find great items at low prices. I just picked up this funky embellished Nicole Lee clutch from TJ Maxx for $20. It quickly soothed me after browsing the new 'Couture' section there & spotting a Gucci clutch discounted at $899.99 that only Santa or my Fairy Godmother can bring due to my budget. :-(  On the one hand, I was disappointed that my first love couldn't come home with me but on the other hand...I'm darn amazed at how such a much cheaper product filled in & gave me the same sense of euphoria almost immediately.

"I Am NOT Leaving Home Without it!" Products

Every girl has a product or two (or few) that she MUST use before leaving the house or else she's a lucky duck...or perhaps just doesn't care?

Clean & Clear Continuous Control
Acne Cleanser
I so wish I could shower, brush teeth & throw on clothes & be DONE. Nope. First, I never leave home without a complete washing of my face & since I have oily skin...I keep my complexion clear with Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleaner with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. Besides Oxy face wash...it's the only facial cleaner that actually works for me (I'm not being paid to promote any of these products...I speak truth). Products with Salycic Acid tend to give me more break outs for some reason. Or perhaps I'm allergic? Anyhoo, this one does the job without drying out my skin or making me react. It's an inexpensive find at any local drugstore or superstore (Walmart, Target, Kmart, etc.).

Grassroots Vitamin C Power Brightening Cream SPF25
Then I moisture with a non-oily moisturizer without at least SP15 (thanks to the dark pigmentation of my skin I don't need a higher sunscreen than that--and to think I originally believed dark skin didn't need sun protection HA!--that was before getting tested for invisible sun damage). My fav is Grassroots Vitamin C Power Brightening Cream (look Ma...it has vitamins!). It includes SP25 but more protection can never hurt. Something about the citrusy smell makes me feel like it actually sending sun thru my entire body & brightening me all over. Weird. It's midrange in price and I normally get it at Kohl's.

I also like Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer with SP15. This is a less expensive option that I can grab at any drug or super stores. This also has a faint citrusy smell that is less potent than the Grassroots option.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Mascara & eyeliner are a MUST. With my schedule, I need help in making people KNOW that I'm alert. I only use ONE tried & true, old-time mascara formula found in Maybelline's Great Lash (green top). My fav colors are Royal Blue & Blackest Black. This is a high-quality product at a very low cost found in drug & super stores.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid
Eyeliner

My eyeliner varies. For work & casual use, I use black liquid eyeliner. I have a few favs but the one you will find in my cosmetic bag the most is Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner. I like this option because if I am not wearing eyeshadow (& thus eyeshadow base)...it lasts all day without melting, feathering or flaking. It's another drug or super store buy at a low cost.

Mac Lipglass in Dreamy
Last but certainly not least, is my lipgloss. I do wear lipstick here & there but lipgloss rules my lips & my make-up collection (which needs its own blog to discuss). I have a plethora of non-sticky, lasting...juicy favs. But my all-time favs are  Mac Lipglass in Dreamy & Oh Baby. Mac is a high-end brand that I splurge on but it's SOOOoo worth it. The Mac Store & Macy's are the stores I usually frequent to get my Mac loot.

MUAH! Ready to go babes...

Shoes oh Shoes...oh how Do I love Thee? Let me Count the Ways. Or Maybe Not?

I have this love affair with shoes as much as I do purses. And make-up. But since this post is dedicated to ONE love...let me stay focused. Ever had a body-tingling experience when finding a great new pair of shoes? Especially if they are multi-functional (look HOT & feel/perform great) and are relatively inexpensive but of great quality? It happens on occasion with me but that doesn't stop me from continually purchasing every shoe that falls short of that feeling. It makes NO sense why I have about 20 pairs of every color shoe within reason (no hot pink or orange thank you). But I do. And although I can admit it here, I plead the 5th when questioned by others. Especially my fiance who can't understand the need to have more than one pair of shoes each for running, working & leisure. Leave it to him...I would have a 2 shoe limit & I MUST make sure they are HIS definition of multi-functional (triple as fashion, trudging thru snow, running & for sleeping if necessary. Oh the HORROR of thinking about it. He's into fashion but somehow he manages to look super-great with less items. I'm not there yet. In fact...I'm not interested. So back to shoes. Oh the greatness of a strappy, sexy stilletto that doesn't cut your feet. The power of a modern spin on the classic pump worn with a power suit....and the fun, flirtiness of tall boots with nice sized heel. I can go on but I'm drooling. So let me share some new purchases & wish items with you (not ALL of em as I have to start a new post for that).

I just purchased these boots (black tall boots on right) from Newport News online (one of my favs). I'm mad that they are on backorder & will be friggin' furious if they cancel them all together. Pray for me people. I'm serious about my shoes.

I am debating on these ones (beige platform bootie on left). I think they are darn funky but seriously...this is when I can agree with everyone that says "Where & when will you wear those?" I dress up for the grocery store but something tells me that these will annoy me & I won't wear them as much. I'll ponder this one a bit more.

Jessica Simpson 'Anne'
I love Jessica Simpson as you will see me gab about her products all over my blogs. She has these tall Capry & Anne boots that I will break my neck for to get in. Ironic? No...obsessed. *sigh*
